Silver Surfer in Avengers Infinity War Part 2? A Disney-Fox Deal, Future of MCU

We all know Disney is in talks for acquiring 20^th Century Fox and therefore will own X-Men characters, Fantastic Four and other huge blockbuster franchises. These other—big if—franchise are Avatar, Alien, Simpsons and X-Files.  But let us not dwell on them right now, we have the next best thing to dwell on—if the deal happens with the Fox Entertainment—we can expect Silver Surfer in Avengers Infinity Part 2 fighting Thanos and maybe Galactus not that horrid mushroom cloud we got in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Moreover, what new movie additions we can anticipate in the Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Why Silver Surfer in Avengers Infinity War Part 2?

Well, why not! Silver Surfer in Avengers Infinity War Part 2, he is one of the most powerful Marvel character and let us first start with Avengers Infinity War Part 1. I know the movie is still set to be released in 2018, but hey we are speculating.

Before reading ahead which is based all on speculation and going to use one SPOILER from the Thor: Ragnarok Movie. If you guys don’t want any spoilers for either of the movies, c’mon speculations can be true as well, you can skip to where it will be written in all caps ‘SPECULATION ENDED’ 

—SPECULATION STARTED—

From the trailer of the Avengers Infinity War we can see that a pile of corpses are actually Asgardians. In the end credits of the Thor Ragnarok we see that their ship is greeted by another huge ship, which is ofcourse belongs to Thanos. We can guess that he is out for looking the infinity stones and by using some cosmic tracker he has found one on board of the Thor’s ship. Again, we can see in the trailer of AIW, short for Avengers Infinity War, Loki is handing the blue tesseract to someone, more likely to be Thanos himself maybe, as a bargaining chip for Thor and himself. 

 

There will definitely going to be a fight between Hulk, Thor, Loki, Valkyrie, Heimdall, Krogg against Thanos and his children. Loki, another possibility, is that he is going to use blue tesseract to save his own skin. Therefore, it might force Heimdall to somehow access Bifrost, though destroyed in Thor Ragnarok but not the bridge linking realms concept, and helps Hulk and Thor to escape to Earth. But just like in Thor Ragnarok as Hela interfere in the Thor going back to Asgard; we can imagine an interference of that same caliber resulting in Hulk crashing in Earth and Thor ending up with the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Next, in the AIW trailer we see an army of Chitauris going up against Cap, Black Widow, Winter Soldier, Hulk, War Machine, Falcon and Black Panther with his army of Wakandan; Thanos beating Ironman with one-punch; Vision being stripped away from the soul gem, Spider-Man and Thor using his biceps to close down a portal. Well this is all going to setup a more interesting Avengers Infinity War Part 2.

Currently the only powerful characters to fight Thanos head on are Thor, Dr. Strange, Scarlet Witch and Star Lord (only if he’s able to use his inherited powers). Rest are there to either distract Thanos or to fight his children and the Chitauri army.

Now this is one big cosmic event and we have seen in the comics that both GOTG and Avengers have defeated Thanos by working together. So that is more passible that will happen in the Part 2. But like many of the blogs, websites and reviewers have speculated that we are going to see deaths of some major characters in this movie. My take on this is that it is more likely, but I went on and imagined what will happen next. So we can expect few of the characters to survive and one likely going to be Dr. Strange as he knows how to use the time stone. And he will use it to manipulate time either go in the future and/or past and create a new powerful Avengers team or allies to go ahead to ahead with Thanos. Therefore, the new Avengers team/allies will include Ms. Marvel, Fantastic Four with here is where Silver Surfer shows up, he gets his power from a cosmic being Galactus and can ‘do this all day long’—an easter egg—with Thanos, and Adam Warlock.

Fantastic Four and Silver Surfer are more plausible than X-Men in Avengers Infinity War Part 2

If the deals move ahead with Fox Entertainment and Disney, it is more likely for the Fantastic Four to be the part of the Phase 4 and not X-Men. As it is not likely for Fox just to scrap their current X-Men universe with their new upcoming movies, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, The New Mutants and Deadpool 2. The only possibility of them scrapping the projects early is if all the upcoming movies tank at the box office. If Disney even gets the X-Men characters right, it would be confusing for them to add them in Phase 4 right next when we still going to have Fox’s X-Men. Also, they cannot simply import the characters from the Fox’s X-Men universe cause to much problem with the timeline and two different quicksilvers version, well can be solved with Multi-verse introduction but that is too much.

Hence, the only best option is to introduce Fantastic Four to us in the phase 4. And guess who will be buying the Avengers Tower? Mr. Reed Richards, I hope so. Plus we also got a fun tweet from Chris Evans which reads, ‘So who do I talk to about a Cap/Human Torch buddy comedy spin-off? I’m thinking Planes, Trains and Automobiles meets Parent Trap.’

So by introducing Fantastic Four in Phase 4, Disney MCU can easily lead the events with F4 movies up to them and Silver Surfer in Avengers Infinity War Part 2. And who does not want Guardians of the Galaxy teaming up with Avengers and Fantastic Four to take on Galactus.
